Perito Moreno Glacier

We spent the afternoon at the national park seeing the glacier. It’s hard to describe the incredible mass and rumble of this ice. A tiny chunk made a sound like Tom’s canon being fired. A ten story chunk fell into the sea, causing a wave of ice flow the size of several football fields. The grandeur was astounding. A beautiful day to wander the 4 kilometers of board walks to observe two sides of the glacier.

  1. T&J, We are enjoying your journey vicariously. We still have very strong memories of some of the places you have been. The glacier looks very much the same as it was when we were there in 78′, except there was no boardwalk and were were crazy and stupid enough to walk down to the water’s edge!
Shelley has another snow day today, #5, big nor’easter set to drop 10-12″. Don’t get too smug about that, enjoy your summer!
