Day in Bariloche

On our way to the laundry, the travel agent and the supermarket, we met Deidre, the nice Irish lady from the bus trip. We arranged to meet her later for dinner and went off to Cathedral, a ski resort just outside the city. Local buses cost $1. and the ski lift was $10. It took us up two lifts, a gondola and a chair over rocky terrain where I can hardly imagine anyone skiing.

Then we walked up top and saw a wonderful view. There we met a Chilean family who gave us tips on where to go in Chile. After we scrambled down to the gondola, rode down and were waiting for the public bus, they came along to give us a ride back to Bariloche in their nice SUV.

Dinner with our Irish friend, beef, trout, chocolate mouse and anther bottle of superb Malbec.
