Spent a good day exploring little town of Puerto Varas on Lake Llanquihue, an inland ocean with no tides. Outside our hotel window, fishing boats troll for salmon, children play on the beach, a few hardly souls swim and swarms of tourists wander the parks listening to Andean flutes and perusing the artisan goods. Ice cream, fruit drinks and even cotton candy abound. Cakes of all sorts and chocolates tempt us as we pass.
Walking through town we found a supermarket and a fruit stall, and a car to rent for 13 days. Tomorrow we start to explore on our own wheels. For our last night we had pisco sours with Phil and Melony from Minn and dinner with our Israeli friends Hana and Luis.
