The first day of Halifax the weather did not cooperate, rained poured hard and then harder, visibility was poor but we found our hotel Delta Barrington in downtown Halifax. Marilee went off to the ‘burbs’ to visit with her father and family. Alice and I took to the streets via covered walkways where we found Salty’s for a fish dinner and some few shops. Too wet for much. Later when the rain had progressed to mean drizzle, we found an art gallery featuring an unusual folk artist Maud Lewis with her tiny painted house as the centerpiece of the show.
Then Alice and I found a tearoom for dinner. The following day I took a walk to the fort on the hill and shot some sunny photos of the town. The oyster bar was only a few streets away, glad I didn’t know.
