Portugal in Inclement Weather

Today we drove to Viana do Castelo, a beautiful seaside town in northern Portugal, looks all closed up for the season but we found a small Albergaria, Margarida da Praca on the waterfront and just off the square. Rain has been sheeting down all day, no time to be gadding around but we will venture out tomorrow or tonight for dinner.
Already Portugal differs from Spain, first the language which I can read but not speak and second the churches which have distinctive spires. Towns seem smaller but we will see as we travel further.

  1. Looks like rain along the Atlantic coast of Portugal through tomorrow, then clearing. Even The Algarve has some rain, if my sources are correct, although the temperature is in the 70s there.
Viana do Castelo looks nice. Did you see any of Pontevedra, Spain, or Vigo? Love, Jack
